It depends on availability. If you can move it once it opens, then it'll cost you 35£ pp, which in the grand scheme of things isn't much. You can't rely on BA cancelling it, so that would be a safer bet. But you'll have to wait until the return opens up, which may be a bit more difficult since the outbound reward space might be gone by then.
I thought that if BA cancelled your 2 for 1 booking you are able to move it to a new date even if there is no availability? So if I wait for a cancellation, it guarantees that I will be able to move it to a slot in April, but if I cancel it myself I will have to phone at midnight to grab the two available seats (and might not get them)? Let me know if I have this wrong.
