New datapoint, just did my IST-SFO return leg. On the 787 in J. Food quality was better on return leg, but still well below Qatar (or even Emirates) J standards. No, I cannot have my second meal early, I must wait until it is time for it to be served. Have to ask again for a drink order previously placed. No PJ's. Bathrooms not kept clean. Service again is stern, taciturn and while not frigid, lukewarm at best. The seats on the 787 while having more privacy are very uncomfortable in lie-flat position, with a hump right at hip or lower back location. Does anyone do any gd homework to test prospective seats before actually installing them? Fine for sub 6 hour flights but not fine for 13 hour flights.

A shame the experience is so lackluster because we otherwise love going to Turkey.
