I have not tried with Emirates, but with other airlines through the online booking tool. Be aware that if you do book as one ticket, you'll pay F award costs for the full distance.
The upside about booking separate tickets is that you pay the miles associated with respective cabin only
However, not a good idea in current covid situation
Even if i wanted to, paying full F award miles for the entire J+F ticket is not an option under the JAL booking system
