It's my understanding that on an equipment swap, where first goes from 20 seats to 16 seats, passengers will be moved/dropped based on first on whether the seats are purchased versus upgraded, followed by revenue amount, followed by status of the traveler. Being in row 5 will not cause you to automatically drop out of first if there are lower priority passengers in the other 4 rows.
