Umm, no. I would bet vast majority of FT get free PP memberships as credit card perks. I personally have 3 myself. Banks could care less about this type of fiddling at the margins so long as the price they pay for the perks does not go up.
Also as noted above Plaza is not a big draw for many US-based travelers.
But Amex doesn't include this perk in its PP memberships, so the restaurant credits are a major differential for Chase and other cards that include it.
I was writing of those who purchase priority pass directly. And Plaza Premium is a BIG draw for US-based travelers
as Americans are very frequent international travelers (non-COVID times) as those lounges are frequently the only viable lounge options, particularly as arrivals lounges, in Asia and some parts of Europe like the multiple Heathrow options.
