AC VIP is not like UA GS. The person in charge of travel at IBM Canada is AC VIP (maybe not, but that's the type of person who gets it). William Shatner is VIP (and other legit Canadian celebrities).
If you're thinking "I want VIP status", you're not going to get VIP status.
My understanding is, if you're SE2MM and spent $100K last year, you still probably aren't getting close yet, but that's just me piecing together bits of information over the years. Safe to say there's a reason the program is unpublished.
