As I alluded to earlier in this thread, I was interested in using a 'be our guest voucher' to add on on to a 5 day points booking. As BA have now introduced new flights to MLE from LHR an extra night at the start of my trip works perfectly.
But when I emailed and asked, I was told that the voucher could only be redeemed against the basic Reef Villa. I had been lucky enough to snag an over water villa with my points, but I replied saying that I would be happy to take the reef villa for the first night.
The reply came telling me that there were no reef villas available for 9th June and they can't help further. A further look suggests there are no reef villas available at any time.
Have I been advised correctly or can someone suggest a course of action where I can get a room released? I thought I was doing the right thing contacting the hotel but had I just followed the instructions on the certificate, I would have booked the cheapest room and then been in a difficult spot at the hotel when my voucher was rejected.
