I've been there many times and I send clients there all the time. Both properties get rave reviews but the island is really special. If you are coming out of Hwange, you can get by with a one night stay but I recommend two. On the island, you are limited to any animals that will walk across the river. On land, the animal viewing is improving every year to the point a rare guests will spot a leopard. You will for sure see hippos, crocs, and elephants.
