On one hand, I can't stand having someone recline into me, so Row 1 helps on that front. OTOH, sitting at the bulkhead I miss having a useful seatback pocket in front of me, and a place to fasten a tablet.
Usually it comes down to time of day - if it's in the evening, when people are more likely to recline, I'll take the bulkhead. If it's during the day, rows 2, 3, or 4.
I do like the seats in some of AA's 737s, which have a fairly spacious storage well under the center armrest. That more than makes up for the lack of seatback pocket and steers me towards bulkhead.
