EVA cancelled Lifemiles Award. I rebook but EVA show "wait list". How long to clear?

Original booking June 9 2021 JFK-TPE-CGK on Eva business class (using Lifemiles). Then 48 hours after booking, flight was cancelled cause EVA no longer fly on Wednesday - only Tue and Thu. So I called Lifemiles -after a long wait, agent re-booked me to June 8 2021. I was suspicious since I don't see available award seat on lifemiles.com for that date. But agent said For cancelled flight, there is more available option that "new booking". He also added If it's not available, he won't be able to send a request. He said Eva will send new confirmation email - just wait. He doesn't know how long but most likely fast.
After a few hours, I check on EVA.com. It shows "waiting list" for June 8. So I'm worried that the award seat is actually not really available but more on the mercy of EVA air. My questions:
1. Is this just a slight delay - for EVA to refresh their reservation? since it's using partner airline?
2. Did the agent actually put me on Wait list? even though he said there is seat available? suspicious since this award seat is not shown on lifemiles.com
3. If I'm on waitlist, how long does it take to clear?
Right now the flight looks empty (only 5 seats is blocked in business) but I don't want to take chance since I have to do PCR test/ book quarantine hotel in advance so can't wait till last minute to clear wait list.
