I have a sister who was able to get their RBC Westjet Elite annual fee waived this year. They still maintain their status and would still get the voucher. How it came to be is that my sister called about waiving a late fee and was told that the annual fee could be waived this year. The annual date is not for a couple of months and supposedly the person who did this made a note on her file to have the late fee waived. If my sister noticed that the fee was taken, she was to call back and let them know about this within the note. My sister said she also heard about this on a local CTV news cast since then which is about a week ago. I have not been able to find it. I have tried a couple of times with RBC and I have been told conflicting information. I could downgrade my card from elite to basic but I would have to reapply to get elite. Another time I was told that they could downgrade me but I just have to ask again to get elite, I would not have to reapply. Im retired now and my income would not qualify if I applied again. Just wondering if anyone else has had experience getting the fee waived?
