Yes - it seems that this year the cheapest Qantas fares do not earn Alaska miles either. This never was the case before. So sad as these fares are not even that cheap.
And the government is doubling the amount QF gets anyway. So why be so stingy on crediting - if I ain't getting Aadvantage credit I will book Virgin instead as their fares tend to be cheaper.
