The following weekend, my parents and I made a trip to Kuala Kangsar. There are few options available for you to get from KL to this royal town such as by bus, driving on your own or taking the
KTM ETS train, the fastest
metre-gauge train service in
Malaysia which operates along the electrified and double-tracked stretch of the
West Coast Line between
Gemas and
Padang Besar in
Peninsular Malaysia.
The ETS train departed from departure gate B at KL Sentral station.
First, we had our breakfast at the station's food court.
Then, it was time to board our train to Kuala Kangsar. We took the ETS Platinum Class which will stop at 4 other stations along the way before reaching Kuala Kangsar around 3 hours later. KTM Business class, the most premium and most amenities class onboard the train was sold out on that day as we purchased our tickets a bit late (around 2 weeks before our departure date).
KTM ETS' Platinum class seats.
The final destination of this train was
Padang Besar, in the smallest Malaysian state of
Perlis.
Boarding in progress.
We were greeted with the green jungle scenery along with the traditional Malaysian village sight throughout our journey.
Arrived at Kuala Kangsar station.
