While Hilton does have the room map selection and the option for a digital key, in practice I've found the digital key is annoying to use and always request a physical key card. Of course, that means stopping at the front desk (and queuing if necessary) and I've found in many cases, the only part of the check in process that is sped up is the fact that they have already prepared the keys. They still want to check ID, sometimes make me initial paperwork (yes, even here in the US), etc.
