Something similarly weird happened to me a long time ago. My girlfriend and I had new mountain bikes properly locked in the courtyard of our building. One morning hers was gone. We filed all the reports and everything, and started looking for a new bike. Then about 3 weeks later it showed up again. Parked in the same spot it left from.
