As far as I know, you need unique accounts. That being said, it is a good idea to get your child an e-mail address for the future. It is free, and helps you keep their e-mail in one place (i.e., mileage programs). If not, you can just use your own gmail and add periods.

Or, use Gmail's "automatic" forwarding. With Gmail, if you add "+anything" to any Gmail address, you can create "unique" email addresses for web sites yet all the incoming email comes to your regular email address. Example: my (completely made up) email address is:
[email protected]. I can register
[email protected] as my TTP email address, and all the registration related emails go to me@gmail.
