I'm pretty sure that most people who work in the hospitality industry would recognise that a crib is the one 'on request' item that will cause them, and their guest, some considerable aggravation if it's not provided, and would try and make sure the customer needs are met.
And also an item that can easily be purchased for less than the selling price of one room for one night, this making it a good investment even if the hotel didn’t have any - because it isn’t worth losing the reservation or the subsequent outcry the guest could cause afterwards on TA, over such a small investment
