I agree there are going to be people who though hell and high water will find a way. But I think we can also keep in mind FT is not an accurate relative sample. People on here care about points, perks, benefits, and enjoy the hobby of the likes. I'd argue with potential AF increase & increase in coupon book style credits that the average person would be over the hassle just get a CSR if they don't already have one and just accept the $250 net AF (with the super easy $300 travel credit that doesn't require any degree of effort compared to a direct hotel or airline incidental credit) and head over to the PP lounge with guests. For the average person to have to jump through the hurdle of now even more hoops to negate the Plat AF, plus drop $175, seems like too many hoops, but time will tell and I seriously do hope the lounges get less crowded.
