My latest trips through LAX after arriving from SFO have been to land at a gate at T5, then I transfer to T4 via the tunnel connection. Departing has always required me to take the tunnel to T5 from T4 then catch the transfer bus to the Nest. No Nest access from T4 seems to be the thing now. And one of the GA at T5 suggested that I remain there rather than wait at the Nest as "nothing" is open over there other than the restrooms.
