For example, a family of four can access the lounge by paying the primary card membership fee plus the authorized user fees for the other three family members. However, an authorized user must be over 13 years of age in order to become an AU on an AMEX card. Therefore, parents with small children cannot add them as authorized users and will be forced to pay the daily visit fee.
I don’t mind paying for authorized users, but don’t penalize families who would prefer to relax in the Centurion Lounge family rooms rather than at the McDonalds near gate C8.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely welcome Amex making it difficult for kids to get in. In my opinion, a child doesn't have any business being in a lounge. I lost count pre-pandemic of the amount of times I was disturbed by a child running amok in a Centurion.
I know Amex made specific accommodations for them in certain lounges, but I don't think they should have.
