Well, I've made up my mind and I'm going with HdB over the PdG for several reasons.
  • 60K less Marriott points for 5 nights.
  • PdG doesn't seem to be accepting SNA's right now and HdB is. (huge)
  • My wife seems to dislike stuffy properties, in general. She felt a little intimidated at the Park Lane London with the doormen and things of that nature. She loves luxury stays, just not places where the staff is always on their toes. She didn't mind a lower key stay at the WA Park City, though. I think the HdB will be a lot more "chill" to her.
  • The suites offered for SNA's at the HdB seem bigger than the PdG. That's important for us. We like space.
  • Breakfast in the room for elites
If PdG would open up their SNA portal, maybe i'd be reconsidering, but it seems they've made the choice for me, at least for now.
