Another nice thing is that Medallion status generally gives you an additional bag on top of whatever your allowance otherwise would be, unlike some other airlines (so your status doesn't nullify your credit card benefits). So a Silver Medallion with a Gold+ Amex gets 2 bags on a domestic Main Cabin itinerary.
