This pi$$es me off to no end.
Over 23 years in this business and doing whatever I can for clients and all it takes is literally 6 seconds to look at the "Contract Details" field in Odyssey (our computer system) in either the reservation screen OR the rental screen. Sounds to me like a power-tripping employee and I'm sorry for that. Contract Details will pull up whatever contract conditions have been negotiated under the Contract ID provided in the reservation. There it will list about coverages, additional drivers, allowable uses (business or personal) and any other tidbits on that specific Contract ID. The next time you run into this (although the employee should proactively look into this for you) if you ask them to check the contract details field and it should tell you what you need to know/confirm. Mind you, I've seen a LOT of CID's over the years that just have "National Car Rental is Primary" as the entire field which doesn't tell you diddly squat; then it's a case of a lazy business development/sales department not loading up anything more then the ABSOLUTE BARE minimum.
