I appreciate all the contributions various members have made to this thread. I moved points into Air France for trip last year that was obviously canceled. I've no idea when we can freely travel again, and I wanted to protect those miles. I tried two approaches; one did not work, the other did.
- I moved 1000 AMEX points in. The account showed no change in expiration for the bulk of my points; it showed two years for the 1000 points.
- I used my Air France credit card for a $10 purchase. It posted today. All of my points now show an expiration of April 30 2023.
It's interesting that someone has reported an extension of their points by moving in Ultimate Reward points. It's surprising to me that moving AMEX points in did not achieve the same.
