It probably won’t be easy flying from Guayaquil to Genoa, so you’re surprised to learn that a one airline can get the job done all by itself via a single hour and a half connection. Two aircraft types will be involved. There will be three stops on the first leg, followed by a nonstop flight into Genoa. Identify the airline, all of the enroute stops and the aircraft types.
KLM historically served Ecuador as a tag on flights between the Netherlands and ABC Islands. So, I will go with a KLM 747 Combi operating GYE-UIO-CUR-SJU-AMS connecting to a little Fokker (F28, to be exact) operating AMS-GOA.
KLM is an excellent guess. They flew seemingly everywhere around South America. That said, surprisingly, they did not fly from Amsterdam to Genoa.
Please, guess again!
39. (1975) Today you’ll be taking a trip along a routing that allows you to fly aboard three different aircraft types, each powered by Pratt & Whitney engines. To wit, you’ll be flying from Merida, Mexico to Washington, DC (IAD) on – in order – aircraft powered by JT3D, JT8D and finally JT9D engines. I’ve found only one reasonable routing (i.e. no zig-zagging all over the country) that allows for this. Identify the three airlines, the routing and the three aircraft types involved.

Close enough. The Eastern flight is with a DC-9-30 - an obvious pivot if the 727 is ruled out. Everything else is correct.
