I couldn’t find this answers anywhere.

Vouchers for BA holidays have to be requested 3 weeks before travel.

BA holidays have to be paid in full 3 weeks before departure.

Vouchers for flight only bookings can be requested up to check in closing, offering much greater flexibility than a holiday.

We have a holiday to SFO (flight and car) booked for July. Currently paid about £400 deposit of a £3k trip. I am wondering whether it is possible, on the 3 week deadline, to convert it to a flight only booking by cancelling the car hire? I remember from the time of booking that the car added about £10 to the total cost. Presumably I’d have to pay the balance if I did this?

If it’s looking positive 3 weeks before and I pay up, I suppose that would be a reason to convert it to a flight only booking at that stage so I have access to a voucher if I need it? Otherwise if I pay up and then they introduce quarantine or something I’d have a problem? Although I did get a full refund on a holiday last year when they introduced quarantine on return a few days before we left.

Does anyone know if this is possible or have experience of it during COVID?
