I signed up for the Amex Green and Gold cards (annual fee waived for 1 year) and got 45k total miles. The free 1 year is almost up and i'm going to cancel the cards.

I would like to use the miles for a business class upgrade to fly international (Europe/Asia). (No plans yet, but i have to xfer the miles before my 1 free year is up.)

I'll be flying out of DC (preferrably Dulles but can do BWI).

I have 15k miles on Delta already from their free credit card for 1 year.

I don't fly often, but if I do, it's usually on AmericaWest to Vegas.

Delta is in financial trouble. Should that concern my miles?

So where to xfer my 45k miles for an upgrade to business class for an international flight?
