OP - Looking at your profile information on this page it looks like you're not yet a MP member. I would definitely sign up and pick out a Chase United branded credit card and start reaping mileage rewards for your everyday purchases on top of the miles earned on our flights. Since it sounds like your days of the week are fixed, this can be a tool on days when flights are expensive (Fridays before Holiday Weekends?) I admit that UA now had dynamic award rates, however they seem to me more standardized that cash rates, meaning there are probably only 2 or 3 redemption rates per route. Maybe someone with more experience can comment if high paid fare days correspond to high redemption rate days.
