Ha, if you doubted [the veracity of their claim], you could be like, "Oh, is he/she now! Well then, I'll head over to the restaurant, and maybe I'll meet the courier halfway!"
Worst case, you end up at the restaurant (let's say, because the courier didn't actually make it out yet), and you end up picking your take-out from the restaurant itself. You get your food quicker, they don't have to send a courier over: everyone's happy. (I think?)
