Perhaps, for now, these tickets last longer as I believe a cancellation to your wallet under the waiver would fall back to the purchase date.
We also don't know if a different form of credit will have the same utility nor do we know if one can be coverted to the other without a fee. We know there are no change fees, ever, but nothing is being said about cancellations. Everyone can do pretty much whatever they like with the Peace of Mind waiver and changes & cancellations are seen as synonymous. I am not convinced that utility will be available to everyone once the waiver expires.

Edit: AS now states there are no change or cancellation fees on Main & First Class tickets purchased from May 1st onwards.
Customer service commitment
Change and cancellation policies
As a part of our COVID-19 response, we are waiving change and cancellation fees for tickets purchased through April 30, 2021. Saver fares booked prior to April 30, 2021, may not be changed, but can be canceled for future travel credit.
Beginning May 1, 2021, change and cancellation fees will be permanently eliminated on Main and First Class fares. Saver fares may not be changed or canceled outside of our 24-hour cancellation policy.
When changes are made or new travel is booked with an existing ticket credit, you'll be responsible for a difference in the ticket price. If the ticket price is lower, we'll either offer credit towards future travel or a refund depending on the rules of your ticket.
