It was ~250,000 miles for a vacation package (airfare and hotel) worth about $2,600 (~$3,000 less the $400 credit).

If we did a milage award, and paid separately for the hotel, it would have been 110,00 miles + ~$1,000 for hotel cost. So, the hotel cost us 140,000 miles, less the miles we will receive back from the trip and hotel stay, which will be about 20,000 miles. Not sure milage spend is worth the cost offset, but we are presently milage rich (>2.5m miles).
