When I have cancelled itineraries recently (there have been many) and requested wallet funds it still shows that the cancellation fee is waived because of my status.
Credit certificates are not the same, but they can be converted into wallet credits. I do not know how the website will address cancellations directly for a wallet credit once the Peace of Mind waiver goes away, but it would make little sense to charge a fee when said fee can easily be averted by accepting a different form of credit with the same utility.
AS has removed the verbiage regarding the $125 fee on their "Optional Services and Fees" schedule as well. Changes/Cancellations are now "Free", with the exception of Saver fares (which remain covered by a waiver through 30APR21).

I believe both are valid for ticket
purchases made one year from the date of original ticket issuance (travel can take place subsequent to that).
