This is the language I'm seeing on a couple of spot checks (there is no penalty amount stated). I see no reason why AS would prevent a wallet credit and insist on the customer simply holding on to the ticket for cancelled reservations--they could but I don't see the benefit to the Company, just inconvenience to the customer. The rules DO specify that the reissue fee is zero, so cancelling a reservation and holding on to the ticket for future travel remains an option even if the website does not facilitate a wallet credit.

A credit certificate is not the same as a wallet credit. Would that be correct? A credit certificate would be for travel only in the name of the holder. A wallet credit can be used for any passenger. There is still verbage on the AS website that calls out a $125 cancellation fee. When I have cancelled itineraries recently (there have been many) and requested wallet funds it still shows that the cancellation fee is waived because of my status.
