I welcome the competition, as NW’s 90%+ market share on DTW-WAS has yielded among the highest fares to WAS in the country (among major markets) despite the short distance. Unfortunately, I’m not certain US’s service will impact fares into DCA… the fares are still high, as NK offers only one-daily flight that doesn’t suit many persons’ schedules (mine included).

With NK often offering $29-$49 walk-up fares, plus the uncertainy of DH’s and US’s future, I wonder how long this competition will last .
