Sounds so lovely and clean - that waterfall is just what the doctor ordered!

That deal with the $100 "house red" would be enough to send me into a fit - and I've been known to raise quite a fit... Upon reflection, your friend dealt with it best - charge it and then contest it. It's obviously a scam, and Amex will know that immediately.
