Also, it is not 2 paid tests - it's 4. Assuming the country you travel to will definitely be cheaper, you are looking 500-600 GBP extra just for testing, along with the other hassles of travelling now.
Yes but the loopholes mean you end up following the law, no one wants to give the government 5000 GBP on a whim.

And yes the 400 GBP stings, at least in GR there is a price cap of 40 EUR on PCR tests so that helps. Clearly we like being ripped off in the UK, I thought testing was for health reasons not profit, if testing was such an issue they should make it cheaper then.

Let's see what happens closer to the summer though, I am hoping May 17 the testing protocols change at least.
