Exactly. The media (especially the non-Telegraph/FT outfits) seem to report "holidays off the cards" / "holidays back on the cards" as if its all or nothing - e.g., you need package holidays with little to no testing and no quarantine requirements for foreign holidays to be a possibility. That's a very overly simplistic view.
My view btw is that there was never intended to be an April 5 announcement. BJ messed up in his press conference last week or whenever and confused the date when the April 12 changes would be confirmed with when the travel announcement was. And they've had to run with it.
I do think it was telling last night that first question was about family visitation overseas. Goes to show there is a lot of travel needed between a strict interpretation of the current essential requirement and package Jet2 holidays.
