Red face

We just took this flight in FC this past week. Our outbound was fantastic! It was the pilot's last flight - retiring after 35 years with United, and we got the water cannon salute on leaving ORD. That was way cool. Food was pretty good, and the Mai Tais were, too! We got the ice cream sundaes for dessert, but they're kinda skimpy with the portions :-). And, you get warm, mixed nuts with refills. Service was pretty good - attentive and polite. We even got in early. If you want IFE though, bring your own. They show 2 movies, but you don't get individual PTVs. They do have the EmPOWER outlets, so you can bring a DVD player or laptop and not worry about batteries if you have the right adapter.

The return wasn't so great. I mean, OK forget that you're coming back to reality. It's hard (for me, anyway) to get comfy and sleep, even in first. I managed a snooze between Denver and ORD, but if AA has fully reclining seats, or footrests, or (wishful thinking) the first suite, that would be the way to go. Even just the footrests would be a major plus. That being said, I still loved being on the 777 - it's a great plane.

Here's a puzzler for me - on the outbound we flew right over San Fran. Great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. But, on the way back we flew over LAX. That seems like quite a diversion - weather maybe?
