Hilton Honors (i.e. corporate) is the one that needs to make the decision to move you from one hotel to another without charging more points.

As you've found, they don't really care about their customers...

Your only choice to cancel and rebook at the higher rate. Or just wait and see what happens with the closed hotel potentially reopening early.
