If someone could guide me on this question I'd be grateful. Not sure this is the right place for it though (apologies if not).
I'm having a nervous breakdown worrying about a rather nice classical guitar I bought in Japan and will take on Flight 66 back to San Diego. I used all my miles for a one way business ticket thinking it remotely possible that JAL might let me take my guitar into the business cabin. Figuring out how to pack is really a puzzle since I don't know if JAL ever allows guitars to be taken in the cabin.
I only just learned today that in the US legislation was passed in 2012 requiring airlines to allow guitars in the cabin if there is space. I'm wondering if business is likely to
have space, and if JAL adheres to the US rule when flying to the US. I have tried calling the airline but can't get them on the line. I asked this question before some months ago but couldn't really get an answer. Does anyone have experience with JAL and guitars? I can't imagine this airline as "JAL Breaks Guitars" but you never know. One reason I chose JAL is that I trust them more than most other airlines.
Any advice?
