I guess you have not looked at the floor in an airport bathroom, lately.

GradGirl followed up my post nicely, thank you, and the fact remains that this thread exists for a very good reason, nothing of which has to do with what I or anyone else does on the freeway.

The whole TSA shoe operation is out of control, is readily apparent simply by reading this thread again from the beginning, and is compounded by the belief that just because some agency says "it is necessary," then it is necessary. The very fact it is not mandated -- yet they want you to think it is -- and is governed by secret rules, is indicative of what the TSA really thinks of the people it is supposed to be serving!
