Fabulous stay at The FS Ko Olina

We just returned from The Four Seasons Ko Olina and it was a great experience. It was the perfect antidote for us as we have been dealing COVID quarantine for a year.

hey are still somewhat limited in which venues are open, and we went knowing that. (Spa options are very limited, La Hiki is not open in the evenings for dinner, the lounge is not open in the evenings for drinks. They are taking a “walk first and then run” approach.) They’re safety protocols are strong and effective: negative COVID test is required, temperature is taken upon arrival, and all FS guests had a special wrist band to wear which made it very easy to distinguish between guests and visitors. They enforced the mask policy and there were sanitizing stations throughout the property.

· I love the fact that it is in a quiet location.

· They have maintained their 5 star level of service. It amazes me that the entire staff remembers people’s names and greets everyone by name.

· The concierge, we worked with Fabrice, was very responsive and helpful. We worked with him to arrange for dinners (at the most popular time – sunset – and he worked magic), car rental for a day trip, snorkeling trips…everything was handled so well.

· The rooms have been refreshed and ours was well laid out. They’ve introduced a special air purification system which provided great reassurance that the air was clean. We were upgraded to an Ocean View room and the view of the garden and ocean was amazing. (This room is, in my opinion, so much better than the Ocean Front room which overlooks the lagoon.) I always have a great night’s sleep on the Four Seasons mattress, it is so comfortable. The bathroom was well laid out with two separate sinks and vanities. This year, they had Bulgari amenities.

· I asked to have a floral arrangement in the room to welcome my sister and had some specific requirements based on what I knew she liked. The in-house florist did a fabulous job – it was one of the most amazing arrangements I’ve seen.

· The restaurants, Noe and La Hiki, were really great experiences. Michael in the bar at Noe is the only person I trust to “surprise me” with a drink and I was thrilled that he is still there. The meals were delicious. Breakfast at La Hiki is a la carte for the time being and there are plenty of delicious offerings. The reception staff there were so gracious every morning. We loved having Justin as our server; he was so friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the area. He recommended an offsite outing that we followed up on and were happy we did!

· While we didn’t eat there, Mina’s Beach Club has added a “toes in the sand” dining option. It looked like it would be a great experience.

· The staff at the Serenity Pool are on top of everything! A special shout out to Sevin and Kota who made our time at the pool so comfortable. And the view from our chairs of the ocean was magnificent. He remembered us each day and how we wanted our chairs set up. We never had to look for any pool staff to have our water refilled or order a drink or meal.

· The gym is amazing with multiple rooms and an extensive collection of equipment. The lap pool was great.

· Last year, I identified a small concern: there are very limited opportunities for evening meals. With La Hiki closed in the evenings, the only options are Noe (Wednesday through Sunday), Mina’s, and room service. So having some other quick options available would be a welcome addition.
