While locals and others may find this place to be "touristy".....and they are probably correct, I've always had really good Indian food at Punjab Restaurant, 80 Neal Street, Covent Garden. Their website is located at: www.punjab.co.uk and claims that they are the oldest Northern Indian restaurant in London.

I know that there are other alternatives, like Brick St, or perhaps Islington, but this place is relatively near to your "libation" location, and perhaps you'd have as a good a meal there as I have.
