I started flying on my own by the age of 7! My parents stopped "declaring" me an unaccompanied minor at the age of 11 when I was supposed to get a taxi to where I was going and the airline (AA) would not "release" me. From that age on I travelled constantly as an unaccompanied minor to many parts of the world. This however was years ago, and I doubt things are so lax these days.
