The food concessions in T7/8 were crummy (IMHO) pre-pandemic. They're just open fewer hours now (or not even open). I think IAH and EWR are the best hubs for UA concourse food. The last food I bought at LAX during a UA layover was a burger from Habit in T6.

It's a little bit of a walk, but at least it's airside.
