The terms of both Trip Delay and Trip Interruption coverage are linked in the Wikipost at the top of the thread.
I think a Trip Delay claim is excluded by this provision: No coverage is provided for: Covered Losses that are made public or known to the Eligible Traveler prior to the departure for the Covered Trip.
If you file a Trip Interruption claim, what prepaid expenses do you seek to recover? I expect Delta will refund your ticket.
This would be trip interruption insurance. I'd want AMEX to cover the cost of the new direct flight I took since weather is a covered reason under that part of the policy.
