But if you fly say on a Saturday when people aren't doing that, the upgrade chances are good. If it's Thursday, everyone's headed to their long weekend and you are hosed.
Good point although my flight was on a Saturday I think the biggest factor going against upgrades on this route is the fact that it is an -800 with only 12 seats so that's always tough no matter the route. I think folks would have a slightly easier time upgrading on the A321 from FLL-LAX.
