Here's my take with 40 years in the business world. Never, ever underestimate the ability of the C level to spend a dollar to save a nickel. From what I see in the consultant world there's this idea that we can now just go virtual because we can save time and money on travel. And many, many companies are going to try it for awhile with the expected bad results. At some point (this is all post COVID, if that ever comes about) the outcomes will be so disastrous that some work will go back to in person but not all of it. My company is a perfect example of senior leadership that is 100% convinced you can do this all virtual if you really want to. And they have ZERO desire to hear elsewise.
