Same here...no way we were having real corned beef yesterday because of my wife. However I had an alternate plan to satisfy whatever percentage of Irish is in me (somewhere between 1%-43% if you believe the DNA test my brother had done - they group a region and we suspect England is much more prevalent in our heritage). I had found Reuben sausages at Mariano's last week. I asked the meat counter guy and he said they were made with corned beef and sauerkraut (made with cabbage!). They were approved by my wife and we got 2 of those and 2 giardiniera sausages - both went in the freezer. When we took the thawed package out of the refrigerator last night, we discovered that we had accidentally grabbed the giardiniera instead.
