Any advice on how feasible this short of a connection is when it's domestic to domestic?

It's not the last flight of the day, but there's a 3-4 hour gap until the next flight that would get me into SJD quite late, so I have concerns about 1) not making it on my SJD flight or 2) making it on my SJD flight but my luggage getting left in MEX until the later flight (at best) and then being stuck in SJD waiting for it to arrive.
